Clearly this new dessert topping should be banned from your pantry ‘cause if you are like me, you won’t stay away. A spoonful here, a spoonful there—the jar is half gone and I just brought it home a few nights ago. 

The folks at La Salamandra have outdone themselves with this new wonder. The consistency is like the original—creamy and buttery, but the flavor is a double whammy. First you get the strong deep buttery caramel sweetness and then suddenly a well balanced less sweet dark chocolate finish kicks in perfectly. It’s a breathtaking balance—not too carmely, not too chocolatey. It’s just right. 

Spoon out over vanilla ice cream, bread pudding, fresh fruit or a plain wafer cookie. I even spooned it out over a piece of apple pie! My new favorite…I blended it up with milk and vanilla ice cream for the perfect caramel chocolate frappe!
