Meet the Cheesemonger:
Lisa B is our Executive Chef and the retail representative on the Vermont Cheese Council. She is a member of the American Cheese Society. Lisa is passionate about the Vermont cheese scene, and checks in weekly with many of the farmers and cheese makers who make up Vermont's great cheese community-from Bennington to Grand Isle. As a native Vermonter, she is committed to sharing the experience and stories of these rural pioneers who care for the land and who are part of the new farming revolution here in Vermont.
Vermont cheese of the Month Club!
*Current subscriptions will be fulfilled, but we are temporarily not taking new orders for this product
Did you know that Vermont has over 40 artisan cheesemakers—in fact, we’ve got more cheesemakers per capita than any other state! It’s no secret to those in the cheese world; our clean mountain air and our lush pastures make for some incredible conditions for making great cheese. And it doesn’t hurt to have some of the country’s leading cheesemakers living right here in our tiny state!
We’ve been shipping amazing Vermont cheese around the country for years. And now, we’d like to introduce our 3 month WFM Cheese Club. As a very important person of cheese, you will receive 3 half pound wedges or blocks of Vermont cheese each month. Our cheesemonger extraordinare Lisa B will carefully select gourmet cheeses based on seasonal availability, milk types, age and unique qualities.
Here’s how it works: By the second week or so of each month (for 3 months) you will receive an attractive box of 3 half pound wedges or blocks of Vermont cheese. We’ll ship them free of charge 2 day air to most parts of the country. And best of all, like our Magical Mystery Food Club, we’ll include tasting profiles, where the cheese comes from and some info about each farmer. Please note: We will suspend shipping during the really hot months of June, July and August.
It’s a real live farm to table food club. We know the cheesemakers intimately; we pick the best of the best from what’s being made that week and ship it directly to you. And you get to taste some of the most unique cheese being made in this country. Some of the Vermont cheese you will receive is quite limited and often cannot be purchased anywhere but here in the Northeast. Pretty cool stuff. Enjoy.
