Colonna Flavored Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Wow. Talk about flavor. 

And you know me.  Always the skeptic when it comes to flavored extra virgin olive oils.  I mean, it’s the nectar of the olive for goodness sake…why futz with the always-amazing olive?

In this case, thank goodness Marina Colonna futzed with her extra virgin olive oil.  What these guys have done is nothing short of spectacular.  They have used organic lemons and crushed them together with their incredible estate grown olives to achieve a marriage unlike most “flavored” oils.  The color is rich, the flavor is remarkably clean and the olive oil is not overpowered by the citrus.  I use it on shellfish or seafood religiously as a marinade or a finishing sauce.  And frankly in the summer, I use it almost every night on fresh greens, tomatoes and even on my corn on the cob!
