Not really a cookie, not really a cracker, a lot like shortbread but not as sweet, these buttery squares are equally delicious with a cup of afternoon tea or a wedge of sharp cheddar. Made from an old family recipe from Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, its Scottish origins are very apparent in the rough texture of the oats and the sweet flavor of the biscuit. Maddeningly addictive!
