Lake Champlain Five Star Bars

Don’t get me wrong, I love exotic ingredients in my chocolate, but often I long for chocolates which include the familiar and rather simple add-ins from my childhood: nuts, caramel and the fruit and nut nugget (ironically named what you become if you eat too many!).  “Chunky” bars were my favorite.

Amazingly Lake Champlain’s distinctive 5 Star Bars are like the candy bars I remember so much from my childhood.  Produced here in Vermont, Lake Champlain uses fresh cream, nuts and dried cherries carefully blended with milk and dark chocolate.  So simple, so decadent.  The Fruit and Nut bar, by far a WFM staff favorite is an amazing concoction of sweet (dried cherries), salt (almonds) and astringent (dark chocolate)—all in one bite!
