Pure Vermont Maple Cream
This is a great treat!!! While lots of folks have had maple syrup, maple cream is one of those products that have not gone far from its origin. Since we live in maple country all the variations on "basic" maple syrup are enjoyed. Maple cream is produced by boiling maple syrup to approximately two hundred and forty degrees but the pot must be carefully watched or you end up with maple sugar. Silky smooth maple cream is great on toast or spooned into hot cereal. As a "privileged" Vermont child the ultimate peanut butter sandwich was made with maple cream instead of jam.
