Local produce from Vermont this time of year is pretty much limited to storage apples, cider, winter squash and a few tomatoes from Longwind Farm in Thetford, VT... they produce a limited supply of organic hot house tomatoes throughout the winter. (sorry...longwind has stopped production for the month of January.) We try to get as much regionally grown produce as possible and in fact there are a couple of great winter growers of greens and tomatoes in Maine and Massachusetts and we try to carry these items as often as possible.
Additionally, we favor organics from the west coast when the quality is fantastic and prices are favorable. Check out our great pricing--despite the western and southern origin of our organic produce. We pride ourselves on our outstanding quality and pricing.
