Vermont Coffee Company
Buyer beware. This is not just another Vermont label slapped onto coffee beans thus producing “Vermont Coffee.” This is the real McCoy; an up and coming coffee business roasting and blending imported beans to perfection—and also supporting their stores with great advice and prompt service. And P.S., it’s great coffee. We brew it everyday here at the Market. It's roasted in their facility in Middlebury every week and shipped fresh, directly to us.
Moreover, can you say coffee fanatic? Paul Ralston, owner of Vermont Coffee Company is so secretive about his blends of coffee, that he won’t even tell me. Not that I’m some kind of coffee icon, but we’ve been selling his coffee for over 7 years now and every time I ask about it, he just smiles. Suffice to say, his best coffee is the dark roast, which is a combination of Indonesian and Central American beans roasted to perfection. That’s all he’ll reveal--except, of course, his steadfast commitment to all of his beans being 100% organic and 100% fair trade.
His dark roast is a strong yet smooth cup of coffee; his mild blend is a brighter, all day blend. I hate to admit it, I do drink more decaf now, and Paul’s decaf is my coffee of choice in a big way. Swiss water processed and roasted to perfection…I swear I have trouble telling it’s decaf. That’s a huge, huge compliment from most coffee drinkers.
And by the way, Vermont Coffee makes great iced coffee, which we feature every summer.
