Villa Mandori Balsamic Vinegar

In a sea of balsamic vinegars Villa Mandori is quite unlike the rest. Villa Mandori balsamics are produced by Massimo Bottura, chef/owner of Michelin starred Osteria Francescana restaurant in Modena. Massimo produces an "artigianale" as well as a "tradizionale". We offer this "artigianale" Villa and it's truly a prize at probably half the price as the real thing.

It's crafted from a blend of real or tradizionale balsamic and aged wine vinegar. It is then aged 10 to 20 years in small barrels of oak, chestnut and juniper. This is unusual. Many artiginale balsamic makers don't use aged wine vinegar nor do they age the blend in real wood barrels for more than 10 years. Mind you this Villa is not the real stuff (read below) but it's so close, it almost doesn't matter. Villa Mandori's tradizionale style yields a balsamic of intense aroma, rich color and incredible flavor.

We have sold more Villa after a simple taste test than almost any other product I can remember. In fact I can't think of another product that makes almost everyone an instant fan after drizzling a bit on fresh arugula, lettuce or any veggie. Thick, rich, and sweet…it's perfect drizzled on your summertime favorite heirloom tomato. All you need is a few drops. It's pricey but well worth it and a bottle lasts quite a while. Plus it does not hurt that the bottle comes in a very cool box with a great label.
