Vermont Country Grillstone Himalayan Seasoning Salts

You may be seeing gourmet salts all over the place these days.  While there are a ton of cool ones out there, we stumbled over these unusual Vermont products last year at a local food show. Vermont Country Grillstone’s main business is not food products at all; in fact, of all things, they are an offshoot of the Vermont Marble Museum.  We sell the VCG’s actual marble grill stones in our Woodstock store.  They came up with these gourmet salts to accent their grill stone sales.  By the way, the hallmark of Himalayan salts is their pinkish or reddish tinge and are just as delicious as some of the other great salts of the world.

No matter the history, the salts are fantastic and all three make a great gift. The Vermont Maple Salt is a cool sweet and savory that’s perfect on anything from popcorn to a roast chicken.  When VCG was here this summer at a BBQ demo, they were using it on salmon and it was absolutely sensational. Our top seller, the Catamount Country Grill Salt has got sage, rosemary, black pepper, onion and garlic along with Himalayan mineral salt…it’s killer on pork and chicken (AND salmon too) and it’s my new favorite quick “marinade”.  The Vermont Cheez Peppa and Salt—Amelia’s favorite—is a unique blend of real Vermont cheddar, cayenne pepper along with Himalayan salt.  It’s spicy, salty and hot—perfect for popcorn, corn on the cob, potatoes, soup or even burgers.
